The Factory, a new Chesterfield concert venue, gears up for 2021 debut
More than 100 acts will be booked each year — rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz, country, Motown, comedy, children’s shows and more.
After a whirlwind of cancellations and postponements that defined the 2020 live music landscape comes a bright light of optimism. A new concert venue, the Factory, is planning for its grand opening May 1 in Chesterfield.
The Factory will anchor the District, a new entertainment and dining destination at Highway 40 (Interstate 64) and Boone’s Crossing. The development was formerly known as Chesterfield Outlets (originally Taubman Prestige Outlets); the retail concept is being phased out.
The Factory, which will open as part of the first phase of the District, will be a two-level, indoor venue with 52,000 square feet of flexible space. It will hold between 2,350 and 3,000 concertgoers.
The Factory and the District are being developed by the Staenberg Group. The first phase of the project also includes Main Event, a family entertainment center with activities such as bowling, billiards, laser tag and arcade games. It is expected to open in the summer.
